Howzit Geoff,

Looong time!!  Too long to go into any detail.

Joe forwarded your emails to me. I am now living on a farm in the mountains in the
Free State, and as we only have a dial up connection via a cellphone, I cant use Skype.

Anyway, Pete and Jackie were here a year ago, and we all met in the Drakensberg
at the Royal Natal National Park, as we had done a couple of times previously.

I took this picture, the last I took of Pete, on 30 January 2007.   Maybe you can share
it with the folks.

All the best
Tony

Hi Geoff

This Tribute to Peter is a wonderful idea of yours. Thank you so
much for doing this – we really appreciate it and I’m sure Pete
would be honoured to know that he is held in such high esteem.
He was truly an amazing person, cut down in the prime of his life.

I have attached some pictures and the eulogy that Dave said to
honour his Dad at the end of prayers.

We will go to Robin Sunday at 10 a m our time (6 pm Saturday
your time) and look forward to reminiscing with you and others.

With love and gratitude,

Jacqui Natalie and David

Dear Jacqui, Natalie and David:

I dedicate this site to a friend and a brother with whom I
spent very special times before leaving for the USA in 1972.

I believe that Pete and I were like brothers for almost 6 years
and I recall those years with warmth, unique friendship and
a tremendous connection which I will remember always.

I extend my deepest condolences to you, Jacqui as well as
Natalie and David (whom I have not had the opportunity to
meet) as well as the extended Family with hopes that we will
all meet in the near future.

It was my pleasure to create this tribute to Pete... and I hope
it brings much comfort and happiness to you as well as all
of us in celebrating Pete's life.

Fondest wishes,

Geoff Phillips - San Diego

Hi Geoff,

I can hardly believe that it is only two weeks since Pete passed away.

It is so hard to imagine my life without him, as he was all of my life.

At this stage it is better for me not to think too much about what I am
going to do, as it just brings floods of tears.

The love and support that we have been surrounded with has been
overwhelming and we are so grateful for the many family and friends
who have reached out to us.

Thank you for making the fantastic Tribute to Pete possible.

My children and I will cherish this for the rest of our lives.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the phone calls, sms’s,  emails, visits, food and the messages of
condolence that you all sent to honour our beloved husband and father,  Peter.

The love and support that we have been surrounded with has been overwhelming and we are
so grateful to the many family, friends and colleagues who have reached out to us at this time.

It is nearly three weeks since Pete passed away and my mind is finding it really hard to let go
of the thought that he is going to walk in the door at any moment. I know that time is a good
healer and the days just seem to tumble along.

My children are a constant source of joy and a great help to me. Natalie and Jason will plan
their wedding for later in the year. Their new apartment is looking lovely and they are settling
in. Gail and Dave will leave for their honeymoon on 29/2 and will have a well deserved break
away from it all.

Their wedding on 27/1 was the most spectacular wedding in a bubble in Byron far far away on
another planet. Even if it had not been my children getting married, it would still be the most
amazing wedding I have ever been to in my life.

With love and gratitude

Jacqui Natalie and David Eliovson

Dearest Jacqui, Dave, Natalie, Gail & Jason

We are devastated by Peter's untimely passing.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for
the kindness and support you have given us
since we arrived to settle in Sydney.

Peter was always helpful and a great friend to us
in our times of need. He was our tour guide to
Sydney and especially the Eastern suburbs.

We will always remember fondly the good times
we spent together touring the greater Sydney -
from the Central Coast and the Northern
Beaches to the North to Kiama in the South
and our weekend away to the Jazz festival in
the Hunter Valley.

Viewing the midnight Fireworks on the Cahill
Expressway on New Year's Eve will never be
the same without Peter.  It was something to
look forward to every year.

We also have amazing memories of the day
we spent together, climbing the Sydney
Harbour Bridge with Peter.

We will always cherish the times we spent
together - whether it was meeting for breakfast,
lunch or dinner, a barbi, a picnic or simply
catching up with each other at your home or ours.

We shared with Peter his milestone 60th
Birthday.  Who was to realise then, that a short
while later he would become so ill.

We remember Pete when he arrived at our home
to help us unpack when we first arrived. He
helped change most of our electrical plugs.

He was like a brother and sister to us. We
shared a unique friendship and had a
tremendous connection with him.

It will be hard to imagine our lives in Australia
without him.  We will always remember Peter's
warmth, wonderful sense of humour and the
unique friendship and connection which we
shared with him.

Rest in peace Mate.  Always in our thoughts
and hearts.

Fondest love,
Rosemary and Harry Marks

In particular the year Stuart and I
where there together, he
made sure that we spent time at
Ledwood Lodge which was one
of the highlights of our visit.

I hear Pete saying “What, San, you
don’t have skype! I’m phoning you
for free! You get it, girl” And I did.

We often didn’t see each other for
many years but distance and time
didn’t seem to make any difference.

We always picked up where we left
off, same warmth, same love.

All my love,

Sandy Sonnenfelt

Dear Geoff,

Thank you so much for making it
possible to pay tribute to Pete.

Dearest Jacqui, Natalie and David,

This is a picture taken January 2007
at Tendele in the Drakensberg,
where Pete, Jacqui, Tony, Chris,
Harriet and myself spent a warm
and wonderful few days.

I feel so grateful to have had that
little time with Pete and will always
remember the fun we had tasting
and comparing an array of
chocolates every night.

My memory is full of instances of
Pete either suggesting and providing
invaluable information on places to see
and stay on my visits to South Africa.
